Grapefruit Seed Extract May Help Fight Stomach And Intestinal Bacteria

May 15th, 2008 DarrellMiller Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

Grapefruit seed extract is regarded as being natural antibiotic that is effective against a broad range of bacterial infections. It has also been used to treat parasitic infections and a range of viral infections as well as having found uses for a wide variety of medical conditions.

So what is it about grapefruit seed that is so special? Most people are acquainted with grapefruit, which as a member of the citrus family of fruits, and not to be confused with grapes which are a totally different type of plant. Grape seed extract is also a useful natural medication, but used for totally different conditions.

Because of its efficacy against parasitic and viral infections, grapefruit seed extract is very useful in treating various forms of food poisoning. But, how was this remarkable property of the simple grapefruit seed noticed? The answer to that depends very much upon what version of the story of Einstein Laureate physicist and immunologist Dr. Jacob Harich you believe.

Dr. Harich was not only a scientist but a hobby gardener in Florida, and the two versions of his story tell either that he decided to investigate why grapefruit seeds tasted so bitter, or why the grapefruit seeds in his compost heap failed to compost, or rot. Whichever story is correct, and perhaps both are, the result was the discovery that grapefruit seeds appeared to be a very effective antibiotic.

In fact it has been shown to be effective against over 800 strains of bacteria and viruses and also effective against many fungi that lead to illness in humans. Because of this it is used in cased of food poisoning that involve bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract. In fact during the latter part of the 1980s, grapefruit seed extract was tested against a number of known antibiotics and found to be as effective as any of them. Similar results obtained in a number of tests in the USA and elsewhere in the world, and it appears that it is an excellent treatment for the symptoms of food poisoning.

Not only that, but it has been found effective in the treatment of some immunodeficiency diseases, presumably because its antimicrobial properties does much of the work that the immune system would normally do, and so relieves it of much of its hard work. This allows the immune system to concentrate on conditions which are exacerbated by deficiencies in its operation.

Bifidobacteria and Loactobacilli are bacteria that are beneficial to the digestive system. The measure of a good broad spectrum antibiotic is that it does not affect the beneficial bacteria, and grapefruit seed extract has no effect on the former and only a mildly inhibiting effect on the latter. It is also non toxic to humans, which is another measure of a good antibiotic. You would have to drink about two pints of the extract, around 4000 time the normal dose, for the treatment to be potentially fatal.

Among the many uses of the extract are not only in controlling gastrointestinal infections, but also general fungal conditions of the skin, vaginal infections and yeast infections, and also colds and sore throats. It is also believed to support the immune system, not only by its antimicrobial properties but through its effect on intestinal health upon which much of our immune system is dependent. It can also protect patients with symptoms of AIDs and other immunodeficiency conditions from infection.

Its effect on yeast infections around the nether regions of small children has been documented, and it has also been found to be very safe to young children. In fact many mothers have it as a permanent addition to their medicine cabinet.

It is not that long ago when doctors believed all diseases to be due to bacteria or viruses. It is now becoming clear that a large proportion is actually due to fungal infections and parasites. Many conditions such as allergies, circulatory disease and some forms of arthritis have been shown to be due to fungal infections that weaken the immune system. Grapefruit seed extract has been found to be effective in treating many types of fungal disease.

In using the extract in this way, and to treat bacterial infections, it is best to start with a low dose and gradually increase it. This is because when fungi and bacteria are destroyed they release toxins, and too high a dose could result in too much toxin being produced for your body to handle. If you take it gradually you will get the same result, but without the risk of the nausea and diarrhea which the toxins can cause.

Despite all of these benefits, grapefruit extract has not been given the credit it deserves, and much research has still to be done to establish the constituents of the seed that confer these properties. Among these are known to be proanthocyanadins, a class of flavanols with strong antioxidant properties, and a diphenol hydroxybenzene complex that destroys bacteria through the cytoplasmic membrane to prevent the uptake of amino acids and cause leakage of the cell contents. Other active components are Vitamins C and E, tocopherols, limonoids and sterols, in addition to a number of important minerals.

However, there is still much work to be done, although the extract will continue to be used by many devotees for the treatment, not only of food poisoning symptoms, but also of conditions such as acne, athlete’s foot, gingivitis, cold sores, sinusitis and parasitic infections. It appears to be practically a cure-all.

There appear to be no drug interactions, although some medications do react with grapefruit juice, such as some treatments for high blood pressure. If your treatment advises you not to take grapefruit juice, then do not take grapefruit seed extract. Another factor to be aware of is that since the extract is an effective bactericide, then it could deplete the digestive tract of friendly bacteria essential for digestion. You are advised, therefore, to take a supplement of acidophilus, which is easily taken in the form of yoghurt type drinks specifically formulated or dietary supplement for the purpose.

Are TMJ Symptoms Reversible Without TMJ Surgery?

May 15th, 2008 JeannieCrabtree Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

Do you think you have TMJ and are looking for a dentist or therapist to help with TMJ relief?

First let’s discuss some of the symptoms so that you are clear about what to watch for and take care of -

TMJ Symptoms:

Your jaw hurts especially when talking, yawning or chewing

You can’t open your mouth wide. It may get so bad you can’t open more than two inches.

You also feel pain in your neck, shoulders or ears. Teeth Grinding Jaw Clicking

Does that sound like you?

It is the muscles that control your jaws that are the problem. One set of muscles pulls in one direction to open your mouth and another set of muscle pull in another way to close your mouth. If your muscles are stressed in certain ways, tired or overworked, they won’t open or close your jaw properly.

So what to do about it? You could see someone such as a dentist or a physical therapist and they can assist you. Or read on and I will give you another suggestion.

Some things that may be suggested:

A dentist may tell you that you need a mouthguard to realign your jaw. You can try one of those, but the problem I see with it, is when you stop, your jaw will sometimes pull back to where it was, because the most common cause of the problem is muscle pull. That is not taken care of with a mouthguard

You may be told to consciously relax your shoulders, face and jaw muscles to ease TMJ symptoms.

Sleep on your back or side, as sleeping face down pushes your face to the side, causing pressure on the jaw.

Surgery may be suggested. Be sure to try looking at other means to correct your problem first.

Some diet tips:

Eliminate Caffeine, or seriously cut back on it. Those who drink caffeine tend to clench their jaw more.

Don’t chew large pieces of hard or brittle food.

Eat plenty of vegetables, especially dark green vegetables. They contain Calcium and Magnesium, which help build healthy muscles, ligaments and tendons. Most of us don’t eat enough vegetables and get our minimum requirement of minerals in daily, so this is good advice for the whole family.

Even if you cannot chew well, you can get in your vegetables. Buy a juicer and make a glass of vegetable juice to drink each day. Apple, carrot, celery and some dark leafy green vegetables taste pretty good together.

If you are not used to real vegetable juices, it may taste “strong”. You may find that you need to dilute your vegetable juice up to half water. Left over juice can be stored in the fridge, tightly capped and drunk with in 24 hours, and will still do some good. It is however best to consume it each time fresh.

You may want to eat soft foods for a few days. If you TMJ is particularly bad, you could make vegetable soup with a variety of vegetables and a small amount of meat and get by for a few days to rest your jaw, as this will rest your jaw from vigorous chewing.

Can the situation be serious? Yes it can. The temporomandibular joint can become inflamed and swollen. If it gets bad enough it may lock your jaw open or shut. The muscles and ligaments around this joint could lose their elasticity and balance with other muscles, leading to your lower jaw pulling in, which will cause a receding jaw.

It is important to take care of your TMJ at the first sign of problems. Jeannie Crabtree was told she would need surgery. Learn how she got rid of her TMJ through tmj exercises that she could do herself. You can do this too. Go here to read more: TMJ Exercises

# 15 Robert Sweet, U.S. District Judge, New York ”Finally, the fundamental flaw, which will ultimately destroy this prohibition as it did the last one, is that criminal sanctions cannot, and should not attempt to, prohibit personal conduct which does no harm to others.”

Surviving A Panic Attack – The Odds Are On Your Side

May 15th, 2008 MikePaetzold Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

If you’re reading this article it’s safe to assume you or someone you care about has suffered from a panic attack. In fact, if you’re like most victims, you may experience these frightful episodes on a semi-regular or fully regular basis.

The good news is, while panic attacks can be extremely uncomfortable and even terrifying in some cases (hence the name), the victim is almost never in any real physical danger. Fortunately the similarity between panic attacks and heart attacks is limited to sensory experience, so your odds of surviving are excellent!

But it certainly doesn’t feel that way when you’re right in the middle of a full-blown episode.

The American Psychological Association claims the average attack lasts for ten minutes, but hard data reveals incidents that passed within one minute and others that continued for several hours. Anyone who has suffered from a panic attack will agree that, whatever the duration, these events are among the absolute most uncomfortable and disturbing experiences one can have.

But there are a few things you can do to lessen the intensity of an attack, and even to prevent one from occurring in the first place.

The first weapon you have is the knowledge that a panic attack is not a life-threatening occurrence. Simply reminding yourself of this during an episode can decrease your discomfort significantly.

Concentrating on your breathing is a very powerful method for coping with and averting a panic attack. When you begin to experience your first symptoms, become aware of your breath. Without straining get into a rhythm of slow, deep breathing and affirm to yourself the fact that you are slowing your heart rate and managing the flow of adrenaline in your body.

Deep breathing exercises are a great way to dissolve an attack quickly before it reaches it’s peak. Also, the regular practice of breath and meditation exercises is an effective method for completely eliminating the panic attack nightmare from your life.

For some people, it is helpful to close their eyes during the first moment of the panic attack. This will allow you to withdraw from your environment, and can reduce much of the stress of the current situation.

Also, lying down on your back can be a simple way to calm your body. Allow your weight to sink firmly beneath you and feel the floor supporting you completely. For best results combine this with deep breathing and affirmations, and see if closing your eyes helps.

Everyone is different, and what helps one might increase the discomfort of another. But the deep breathing exercise above is a phenomenally effective technique in a majority of cases.

Be sure to discuss deep breathing and meditation practices with your physician. These procedures are rarely harmful but it’s better to play it safe.

Of course the notion that panic attacks are not lethal is a reference to the biochemical process, and does not take into account any environmental concerns of activity risks. These are issues you will need to consider on a case-by-case basis, and you’ll need to apply good common sense.

Obviously you should stop operating power tools, heavy machinery, and if at all possible a motor vehicle in the event of a panic attack. Furthermore, it’s a good idea to remove yourself from any arguments or altercations that might be taking place if at all possible.

Using the simple information in this article, you can reduce the suffering associated with your panic attacks, and perhaps even put an end to these disturbing occurrences completely.

The Body Piercing Phenomenon

May 15th, 2008 MikePaetzold Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

Body piercing has been a fast-growing phenomenon in Western, developed nations since the early 90’s. Interestingly enough, this form of “neo-art” has its roots in the ancient traditions of many tribal cultures.

Body piercing has been aggressively marketed as a connection to non-western spiritual and cultural practices, though such a link does not seem to actually exist. Nonetheless, modern primitivism claims that current piercing practices correspond to ancient “rite of passage” ceremonies.

Once thought to be an extreme trend, body piercing has enjoyed massive growth in the past decade. For instance, just about any town in the U.S. with a population of over 20,000 is likely to have one or more piercing studios.

The market for piercing has become competitive and virtually flooded with new service providers. Unfortunately many vendors have not undergone any significant training before opening shop.

In addition to various infections, hepatitis C can result from improper piercing procedure, poor care of pierced area, or the use of non-sterile piercing tools. More than just a “cool new look” any non-traditional piercing of the body should be viewed as an important decision and a major responsibility.

If you are considering your first body piercing, or if you are the parent of a teen who is begging for permission to get a bellybutton ring, you need to be aware of certain serious risks that are involved. Recent medical journals have chronicled literally hundreds of cases where people have been injured, become ill, and even died due to errors and complications with body piercing procedures!

Perhaps a foremost concern is the great responsibility of ongoing care. Unlike the earlobes, which lend themselves to a near painless piercing, resistance to easy infection, and great simplicity in care and cleaning after a procedure, many other areas of the body are less than ideal for housing foreign metal objects.

For instance, the nose, bellybutton, and nipples are particularly sensitive to penetration. Severe swelling is common, and infection will set in quickly if proper cleaning is not performed on a tight schedule.

While body piercing has become immensely popular in the U.S., especially in larger urban areas, the phenomenon has been called “relatively new” in Canada. The Canadian piercing market did not see a major surge until the turn of the century, with estimated retail activity significantly lower than U.S. numbers as late as 2007.

Many enthusiasts claim piercing rose to great popularity in Europe many years prior to the North American mainstream acceptance. However, media interest in the practice and global mass-market appeal were not evident until late in the last century when the piercing craze officially hit the states.

To date, there has been no clear timeline showing when and how this aggressive form of body art made the leap from obscure tribal cultures to the youth of the developed world. But one thing is certain: body piercing is likely to continue the current rise in acceptance and popularity for at least another decade, and could even lead to new developments in off-center fashion and neo-tribal culture.

Body piercing can be a really cool statement but there are risks. Knowledge is power. Discover the secrets to safe, clean body piercings at Body Piercing Risks.

Enzymes - The Miracle Nutrient

May 15th, 2008 BardnurzSham Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

They are energized protein molecules and responsible for all biological activities going in our 60 trillion cells and are essential for every chemical reaction which takes place in our body. From digesting the food that we eat and unlocking the nutrient to activating our immune system and producing energy in our body.

Without them, all nutrients including vitamins, minerals and trace minerals cannot be utilized properly. A person who are deficient are prone to a myriad of health problem and accelerated age. Many will suffering chronic ailments, such as arthritis, diabetes, allergies, skin diseases, cancer and immune deficiencies and all this were cause by low enzyme levels.

You can find an enzymes in a raw foods, but they are more heat sensitive than the vitamins, and are destroyed when heated more than 50 degree Celsius or 122 Fahrenheit. All form of cooking such as boiling, steaming and etc, will destroy the enzymes 100 %. In fact, every time you eat them, you will use the enzymes reserve in your body. This will cause a burden to the body, when energy can be conserved for repairing our body.

Each individual is born with an “enzymes bank” or “enzymes potential”, and when started to get low, we will have a health breakdown. Each time you eat you are making the enzymes to run out as digestive enzymes are being used to digest food. While eating enzymes rich raw foods is good, it still doesn’t count as a “deposit” but it will only “offset” with the one used to digest them. We also lose enzymes during sweat and body waste. If you’d like to improve your health or increase your lifespan you should take more enzymes supplements.

There are various types of enzyme- digestive, metabolic and food enzyme. Each of it has a specific function. For example, amylase breaks down carbohydrates, lipase fat and protease protein. Some such like SOD function as a potent antioxidant and involved in energy production. Others enzyme such as bromelain and papain are proteolytic enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties.

Each fruit and vegetables has a unique enzyme. The best form of enzyme supplement should have multitude of source. Digestive enzyme usually contain isolated enzyme such as amylase, protease or lipase. Better get enzymes from whole food source and multiple fruits and vegetables so you can receive a wider spectrum of enzymes.

Fresh raw fruit and vegetables are rich in enzymes but it’s hard to eat enough variety to get a full spectrum of enzymes and nutrient. But nutrient can be preserved through fermentation by using specific healthful microorganisms. It will increase the level of enzyme and produce more nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace minerals and phytonutrients) and will be more bio-available to the body.

The function of your immune system is to fight off all foreign invaders inside our body such as bacteria, viruses, carcinogens and other chemical. When our body is forced to work overtime to produce digestive enzymes, it will have a dire effect on our immune function.

Your immune system demands a constant supply of enzymes, especially amylase and protease.

Amylase is found in the macrophages, the white blood cell that actively seek out and destroy diseases that causing microorganisms and toxins.

Protease or proteolytic enzymes break down undigested proteins, cellular debris and toxin in the blood. Also help reduce blood levels of immune complexes that could otherwise active the immune system to attack the tissue of our body.

As we know, we all have cancer cell at any given time. But, we have specialized immune cell such as NK cells (natural killer cells) and macrophages ( white blood cell) that will kill and destroy these cancer cell before they can cause any serious damage.

However, scientist have found that some cancer cells hide under a protein covering to avoid detection. NK cells and macrophages unable to kill them , allowing cancer cells to attach themselves to an organ and spread more faster than before.

Enzymes dissolve this protein covering. Once it removed. NK cells and macrophages can effectively kill these cancer cells. It also have been reported that enzymes will increase the action of macrophages by 700% and NK cells by 1,300% in a short period. Enzymes play a good role in prevention of cancer cells.

Today, medical specialist used enzymes for treating arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and backaches. Many athletes are given daily enzymes to accelerate recovery from surgery, injuries and intense exercise. Enzymes will dissolve fibrin which prevents the scar tissue build up, which can cause restriction in an injured area. Proteolytic enzymes (bromelain type) reduce the body’s production of “negative” prostaglandins (PGE2) that cause pain/inflammation. This enzymes also absorb amino acids to repair afflicted joints.

If you suffer from chronic physical conditions such as tunnel syndrome, tennis elcow, sciatica, strain tendon or old injuries (whiplash, stiff neck or disk problems) enzymes can offer relief. My Advice rather than used painkiller try enzymes to ease your problem.

One common cause of hardening and clogging of blood vessels is the accumulation of protein and cholesterol plaque. This plaque can become dislodge and travel to smaller vessels where it can cause heart attack or stroke.

Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fat and removes fat from storage. Less lipase means the fat stagnates and accumulates in the arteries and increasing risk of heart diseases and high blood pressure. Lipase can help lower LDL “bad” cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Proteolytic enzymes, on other hand, is a great natural blood thinner.

Cordyceps, Strengthens The Lungs, Restore Health And Promotes Longevity

May 15th, 2008 BardnurzSham Posted in Medicines and Remedies | No Comments »

The benefits of cordyceps were first discovered 1,500 years ago when cowherds up in the Tibetan mountains observed their cattle becoming more energetic and youthful in their eating this tiny grass like mushroom. Since then, cordyceps has been used as one of the most effective tonic for many health problems. It helps to strengthens the body, improve organ functions, boost body resistance and promote longevity. As it contains both yin and yang, cordyceps can be used by anyone safely for over long period of time. It is also often recommended for those who are recovering from illness or a surgery, or after childbirth.

Cordyceps is commonly prescribed for the treatment of asthma, coughs, weak lung, wheezing, and shortness of breath and to reduce phlegm. Cordyceps invigorates the “lung meridian” and hence is useful for the treatment and prevention of respiratory problems. It can be used to strengthen the respiratory tract of those who require extra energy in order to perform physical work (e.g hard labour, sport or exercise).

Practitioners frequently use cordyceps to treat general weakness and debilitation. It generally improves energy, endurance and helps fight fatigue or extreme tiredness and alleviates the negative effects of stress. Indeed, cordyceps is a great tonic for anyone who leads a very busy life and need extra energy as it also improve sleep patterns, aids proper transportation of nutrients in the body, and boost cellular oxygenation. If you have been suffering from frequent tiredness and have been unsuccessful despite trying many remedies, you should consider taking cordyceps.

Cordyceps is considered to be one of the best natural aphrodisiacs or sexual tonics available. Although it is not as quick as deer antler, horny goat weed and sea dragon, cordyceps has a more profound effect in strengthening the sexual function. As a powerful Yang tonics, it fortifies the kidney channel, responsible for sexual energy and desire. Traditionally, cordyceps is used in china as a remedy for sexual dysfunction in males, especially for erectile dysfunction, impotence and infertility. It effectively improves libido, sexual desire and performance, physical endurance and energy. Numerous studies have shown that cordyceps stimulates testosterone release and relaxes the smooth muscle of the corpus cavernosum in the penis, improving blood flow for stronger erections and improved sexual sensations. Studies performed at Beijing medical university reported a 64% success rate among men suffering from impotence.

Cordyceps is a popular traditional anti-ageing tonic for body rejuvenation and to promote longevity. It replenishes Yin and Yang energy, restoring strength after physical or mental exertion, and protects from the age accelerating effects of stress. Studies confirmed that cordyceps increases the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), a powerful antioxidant in the body. As a potent antioxidant itself, cordyceps also helps to quench free radicals that cause premature ageing and other common degenerative diseases.

Cordyceps has been shown to lower the LDL “bad” cholesterol while increasing the HDL “good” cholesterol level. It also helps to prevent the oxidation of LDL “bad” cholesterol and “thins” the blood to prevent plaque or clot formation that may block the blood vessels. This helps to reduce the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Studies and clinical trials have also shown that patients with various forms of heart diseases have made remarkable recovery and improvement when given cordyceps in addition to their prescribed drugs.

The kidneys are known as “the root of life” and cordyceps has primarily been used to remedy kidneys conditions. Modern research have also confirmed that cordyceps can indeed protect the kidney and improve its functions. Cordyceps have even been found to be useful for kidney transplant patients. However, the use of cordyceps for kidney problems should be well monitored by qualified mediacal personnel.

Traditionally, cordyceps has been used to strengthen the body’s defences against infections, and recent clinical studies confirmed it is a potent immune booster. It stimulates the production of immune cells such as the macrophages, lymphocytes, T helper cells and interleukin in the body. Cordyceps is also an exceptional immune regulator, where it increases the activities of “underactive” immune cells while suppressing the “overactive” ones.

Studies on cordyceps, inhibiting efffects on cancer cells have been done since 1970s in China. These studies indicated that cordyceps helps reduce tumor size, improves cancer patients tolerance to chemotherapy and radiation, and reduce the toxic effects of these treatments on the bone marrow. Further studies also showed that cordyceps contained anti tumour properties and activates natural killer.

How To Cloth Diaper Your Baby At Night

May 14th, 2008 AutumnBeck Posted in Parenting | No Comments »

Talk to any cloth diapering mom and they all agree that the biggest obstacle is how to cloth diaper at night and not wake up in a puddle of pee. Yes, it’s going to take some trial and error. But it doesn’t mean you have to resort to using disposable diapers.

Disposable diapers leak, bulge, excrete crystals, transfer dioxins and don’t allow the skin to breathe. They are not the “easy answer”. When you chose to cloth diaper you had a reason that overcame the convenience of any throw away comsumer product. Whether it is financial, environmental or health reasons that brought you to use cloth diapers, they are all still valid when the sun goes down.

That being said, cloth diapering at night is all the more satisfying when you find the solution that works for your baby. Aside from the type of diaper that you gently place on your baby before they drift off to sleep there are another tip that is helpful. Limiting or eliminating the fluids at bedtime and the middle of the night reduces the amount of outflow during the night. However, even if your baby is a constant nighttime feeder, you can STILL cloth diaper at night.

There is not one nighttime system that works for all babies but there are a few shining stars.

Prefolds as pocket stuffers: Prefolds are highly absorbent and are perfect for trifolding and inserting into a pocket. A prefold can be wrapped around a doubler, like the Joeybunz hemp insert or Happy Heinys Stuffin Insert, or two prefolds can be wrapped together. You can use any pocket diaper, however many moms have had great success with Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius diapers at night. There are a couple of top performing one-size diapers on the market as well that have caught the eye of quite a few cloth diapering families.

Fitted Diapers: Baby Beehind (BBH), Very Baby Simply Nights (VBSN), and Bamboo Velour Goodmama top the list of most highly recommended fitteds for use at night. Fitted Diapers are a great nighttime option because of their absorbent materials, the ability to add doublers, and their breathability. Successful nighttime fitteds usually contain hemp and/or velour for their ability to soak up large amounts of liquid. These fitteds allow you to lay a doubler under the snap insert and still have the soft material touching your baby’s skin. Where as pocket diapers contain a water-proof layer of PUL (polyurethane laminate), fitted diapers do not have this and require a cover. The lack of PUL is what allows a fitted diaper to “breathe”. To breathe means air is allowed to circulate to baby’s skin. A fitted diaper, though, is only as good as the cover you choose…

Wool: The brightest star in the sky when it comes to having dry sheets is WOOL. Wool is very breathable, comfortable, and can absorb 30x it’s weight in moisture before feeling damp to the touch. Wool keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I live in the hot state of Texas and wool worked wonderfully last summer. Wool is also anti-bacterial because of the properties of lanolin. Lanolin contains acidic fatty acids that react with the basic urea to create salt and water. Urea is a component of urine that would normally cause odors. Wool will need to be washed and re-lanolized every couple of weeks. It is a great idea to put a wool soaker or wool longies over any nighttime system you choose for that extra protection. You can choice hand knit wool, crocheted wool, recycled wool sweaters, or interlock wool for your nighttime safety net.

Getting enough sleep at night is enough to worry about. Don’t add to it by also worrying about wet sheets. You may have to experiment with a couple of different diapers before you find what works for your baby, but it will be well worth the effort!
